The Canvas Chair exemplifies Borge Mogensen’s talent for functionally-driven designs with a focus on simple forms that capture the essence of an idea. With nothing to add or subtract. Drawing on his preference for natural materials, Mogensen used flat canvas as the seat and back suspended between round pieces of wood, together with his trademark use of horizontal and vertical lines for the frame. The result is contrast and a remarkable sense of balance.
